Qualiteg at CEATEC 2025: Exhibition Report
Hello!
From October 14 to 17, 2025, Qualiteg exhibited at CEATEC 2025, one of Asia's largest comprehensive technology exhibitions, held at Makuhari Messe (98,884 total visitors, according to the organizer)!
Press release

CEATEC 2025 Exhibit Overview
Our booth was located in Hall 6 of Makuhari Messe, in an area called the Next Generation Park, at booth 6H207.

In keeping with this year's CEATEC theme, "Innovation for All,"
we showcased our innovative AI solutions, centered on MotionVox, our AI avatar video generation service.

Before we get to the exhibits themselves, allow us a sudden detour to share an odd little record we set during the setup phase.
Late-Night Booth Setup 💦
Now, we casually posted a photo of the booth above, but the truth is our troubles started on setup day 💦
What went wrong?
We showed up late, right off the bat...
Well, strictly speaking it was not lateness — we simply arrived on the later side. But
when we got there, nobody was left at Makuhari Messe 😰
.

We usually exhibit at Tokyo Big Sight, but this CEATEC was held at Makuhari Messe, and we slightly misjudged the drive from Tokyo — so our arrival on setup day ended up being quite late.
Above us, Orion shone beautifully.
The photo below is not one we took, but the sky really was that gorgeous — clear enough to spot exactly where the Orion Nebula sits.
"Well, we're late, sure — but surely someone is still setting up, right?"
we said to each other as we walked toward the hall.

According to the security guard who met us at the entrance,
"All the exhibitors have already finished their setup."
By "all the exhibitors," he presumably was not counting us.
"Ah, sorry — we're actually not done yet..."
"What?"
Fortunately, we had filed an after-hours work request in advance, and thanks to the guard's guidance we got into the building without further trouble.
When we stepped into the hall,
...utter silence.

There really was nobody there 💦
Hats off to every other exhibitor for finishing their setup so quickly
(perhaps that is simply what normal looks like)
Our neighboring booths stood perfectly finished, ready to go

Truly impressive. Something to learn from.
And so, late at night 🌙
the setup of our booth began.

Fortunately, the packages we had shipped ahead had all arrived safely, so the work was essentially unpacking and setting up the panels and demo equipment.

Heave-ho — up went the A0 and A1 panels, one by one.
Then, as we looked up to hang a panel...
"Huh?"

There was a suspiciously meaningful blank space below our company name sign.
We looked around at the neighboring booths, and...

sure enough, everyone else had a booth description written there.
Uh-oh.
It seems we overlooked something during registration 😭

We debated writing something in by hand, but decided a pen was a step too far — and so we set another curious record: of all 810 exhibitors, ours was the only booth displaying the company name alone.
In any case,
our trade-show-hardened team worked briskly, and in no time the booth was set up and polished for showtime 😎
A late start to the setup, but what a relief.
What We Exhibited
And so,
"arrive last, leave first"
— we spectacularly broke that iron rule of trade shows and pioneered a brand-new genre:
"arrive last, stay until the very end"
— a distinction all our own.
But no matter — we had absolute confidence in what we were exhibiting!
The lonely late-night work paid off: by the next morning the booth was flawless, and we were fully ready to welcome our visitors.
Perhaps it was the adrenaline from working past midnight, but our excitement for opening day ran even higher, and we posted this:
Less than 3 hours until the doors open! Our booth is ready — all that's left is to welcome you! 😊 Come by and experience our latest technology ✨ #CEATEC #CEATEC2025 #もうすぐ開幕 pic.twitter.com/zsj2N84QhU

MotionVox® — AI Avatar Video Technology Built for Japanese Business Needs
The centerpiece of our exhibit, MotionVox, is a service that makes it easy to generate realistic, lifelike videos of what look like real people, simply from text, audio, and a selfie video.
The Highlight: Unveiling the "Expression Aware®" Engine v2.0
The biggest highlight was the first public showing of MotionVox powered by v2.0 of Expression Aware®, the AI avatar generation engine we developed entirely in-house.
An example of an AI avatar video generated with MotionVox powered by Expression Aware v2.0
Dramatically evolved from the previous version, the new engine delivers:
- Natural behavior — more natural nods, verbal acknowledgments, and gestures than ever before
- Full-body avatars — avatars can now be generated with the full body, not just the upper half
- Improved lipsync — mouth movements that reproduce Japanese speakers more realistically
- Evolved multilingual batch generation — video generation from Japanese input into more than 30 languages, with a proprietary proper-noun dictionary that reduces mistranslations and misreadings
- New templates — an expanded lineup of purpose-built templates, including news-program and presentation styles
These advances greatly widen the range of expression available for corporate communications.
Other Solutions on Display

We also introduced Innovation-Cross, our hands-on new-business launch consulting service, along with our AI training programs and LLM-Audit, our LLM security solution.
- Innovation-Cross — an open-innovation consulting service that accompanies you end to end, from external partnerships through to on-the-ground implementation
- AI training programs — practical AI talent development support for companies

- LLM-Audit — a solution that protects the security of large language models
Our Deep Commitment to In-House Technology Development
With time at the booth limited, there were many visitors with whom we never got all the way to the heart of what we most wanted to convey:
"why we are building this technology ourselves"
— the core of our story.
After seeing the demo, visitors asked us
"Which company's API are you using for these avatar videos?"
again and again.
Each time, we answered, "Actually, we don't use any external API for the avatars" — and every single person was surprised.
That's right: because we develop our avatar generation engine in-house, we can deliver value fundamentally different from services that simply call overseas APIs.

Why do we insist on in-house development?
Because we want to create an environment where Japanese companies and organizations can use AI with confidence.
A system in which data never crosses borders and is managed and processed safely within the country is essential for companies that handle confidential information.
At the same time, this also helps protect Japan's data sovereignty.
It is also why we develop our own GPU inference solutions and security solutions.

Japan Must Not Become a Mere "AI Consumer Nation"
What matters even more, we believe, is that Japan remains a country that creates AI technology — not one that merely uses it (an "AI consumer nation").
Relying solely on overseas technology will never deliver digital transformation in the true sense. Only by developing technology with a deep understanding of Japan's culture, language, and business practices can the solutions Japanese companies truly need come into being.

What encouraged us most at this CEATEC was discovering how many visitors share this conviction.
"We're rooting for Japanese AI technology."
"This challenge won't be easy, but we want to support it."
— we received so many warm words like these. Knowing there are people who understand and support the purpose behind the development we pour our passion into was the greatest encouragement of all.
Booth Design: "Enjoying the Latest Technology in a Festival Spirit"
CEATEC is a serious venue for business discussions, but at the same time it is a celebration of digital technology — a special event with the character of
"a technology festival"
, wouldn't you agree?
So this time, we asked ourselves how we could embody that festival spirit.
On top of that, roughly half of all exhibitors were reportedly AI-related.
"Behold our cutting-edge AI!"
— that alone would not make for a very interesting booth, we thought, so

we decided to start by making people feel "This is fun!" and "This is fascinating!" At the booth, we kept stiff explanations to a minimum and aimed for exhibits people could actually touch, experience, be surprised by, and smile at.
(Though, out of sheer habit, we still found ourselves itching to explain every feature 😇)

Perhaps it paid off: the booth overflowed with smiles and exclamations of surprise every day, and we drew a great deal of energy from it ourselves!
Daily Reports, Delivered by an "AI News Anchor"
Now, since this show marked the debut of Expression Aware🄬, MotionVox's new AI avatar engine, we thought:
"Why not cover each day's happenings with AI avatar videos made with our own technology!"
And so we had an AI avatar created with MotionVox report on each day of CEATEC, sharing the on-site atmosphere and excitement.
We posted the videos — made right there at the venue — to social media as we went.

This is where MotionVox's news template is a genuine delight to use.
We had so much fun making these that we got carried away and produced the next morning's video in a live-report style.
Day 3 is here! We made an early-morning CEATEC report-style demo video with an AI avatar 📹 We look forward to welcoming you again today 😁#CEATEC #MOTIONVOX pic.twitter.com/rghcWNLkcB

Featuring the same AI avatar, Nozomi Kirihara, every time would get a little dull, so
we also invited another AI avatar, Emiri Hoshikawa, to take the stage,

and delivered each day's happenings in the AI avatars' own words.
What did you think of this little experiment?
In Closing: A Real Sense of the Future
At four days, CEATEC 2025 ran longer than a typical trade show, yet it flew by in a flash — four days that left us with a truly profound sense of fulfillment and validation.
Above all, we are relieved that it concluded successfully, and we are now basking in a pleasant mix of tiredness and satisfaction.
Visitors' Smiles Reflect the Technology's Potential
This was the first public showing of Expression Aware® v2.0, and the response since the press release has exceeded our expectations.
Seeing visitors' surprise and smiles as the AI avatars nodded naturally and spoke fluently in multiple languages made us genuinely happy — and over those four days it confirmed that our technology is steadily evolving and can meet a wide variety of needs.
That said, there is still plenty of room to grow toward the level we aspire to. Discerning visitors offered frank feedback too, including "a real human is cuter."

Even with the technology still maturing, what we found most heartwarming was the passionate expectation and support visitors expressed for "AI technology born in Japan."
We were truly moved that far more people than we ever imagined resonated deeply with our challenge of developing world-class technology while protecting data sovereignty 🥹
Visitors Who Traveled from Afar
And what delighted us most of all was that longtime supporters and business partners went out of their way to visit us at the venue.
Some came all the way from Osaka, and one student traveled from Tohoku specifically to see our booth — their initiative and warmth filled our hearts.
The warm encouragement from all of you, and the joy of meeting face to face at the venue, was the greatest boost our entire development team could ask for — and it remains a powerful motivation to keep honing our technology. We will keep working as one team to live up to the expectations placed on AI technology from Japan!
To everyone who stopped by our booth, cheered us on via social media, or is reading this report: thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Under our guiding principle of "deepening the creativity of people around the world," Qualiteg will continue working with everything we have toward a future where AI and people collaborate naturally. We look forward to your continued support.
Thank you very much for reading to the end.
We look forward to talking with you in person at our next event!
